Benefits of regular excercise

Consider a machine. What we hear about it and its proper working most often is that, "to avoid wear and tear, keep the machine well lubricated. Oil the parts of the machine that are most prone to wear and tear at regular intervals consistently."
What we do not hear, however, is that the machine is vulnerable to equal, if not more amount of degradation in case it is not used. If we leave the machine as it is, over time, its parts will get jammed, the open areas will be seen covered with rust and it will be of no use. So, there should be a balance between the amount of work and rest we give to the machine-not too much, not too little.

And so is true for human body as well.

For your information, human body is also a very sophisticated and advanced level of machine (if that is not too much to say). Just like we cannot expect proper work from a machine made of iron and steel and consisting of nuts and bolts that has been idle for too long, similarly, we cannot expect our human body to give us desired results if we take in way more calories than we burn. And this is  why doctors and biology books and blog posts alike emphasize the importance of excercise for health.

Regular excercise increases blood circulation and reduces the risk of many diseases, some of them related to heart. It burns the extra fat of our body and is very helpful for diabetic patients for controlling blood glucose levels. There is no necessity to do a heavy excercise every day-a 30 minute walk around the park will also work. Besides, one can also do yoga, which is a boon for humanity and helps in the prevention and treatment of many diseases.

The material available on the web about benefits of excercise is enormous in amount. The irony is that most of us know them, but still do not follow them. What we require is the will and motivation to get up from our comfortable sofas in air conditioned rooms and let out some sweat.
