WHY HARRY POTTER IS: THE BOY WHO LIVED

Most of us have heard about, or at least seen the boy with green eyes and a scar on the forehead. A phenomenon in itself, the Harry Potter books have been the favorite of young and old alike, ever since they were published in the 1990s. The story and the world created by J K Rowling is continually growing, with the addition of other books, a website wholly dedicated to the potterheads and a play.

With all these, there must be something in "The boy who lived" that makes it easy for people to connect with him. Well, to be true, there are MANY things. And here I am going to list out some of the features of him which makes him a constant source of motivation for me-

First, he is very NORMAL-as normal as a normal person can be. He has flaws as any person has. He was a bit too kind perhaps and impulsive too. The reason why I am emphasizing this rustic quality of his is that, despite being so normal, he carried out a deed so great- he defeated the greatest dark wizard of all time.
Now, what does this mean?
It means that we too, with courage and determination, can overcome the hurdles in our path! Though we will not be facing any red eyed and "slits for nose" like creature, what all stops us from achieving our goal can be overridden if one keeps trying without stop.

Second,he is a fighter. He is competitive and does not sit down and cry over his problems. Though there are times when he feels defeated, he gets up again and rests not till either he or the problem is killed. This quality of his inspires me to relentlessly keep chasing my goals.

Third (this quality inspires me the most as a student), he is easygoing. He cares about studies so as to get passed in the exams, but does not bothers above that. After all, as Hermione accepts one day (in Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone), that-"Books and cleverness! There are more important things in life-friendship and bravery."

These things about the character keep me composed and going in my tough times. All thanks to J K Rowling!
