Top 10 Bollywood Movies

‘Bollwood’ commonly referred to as Hindi Cinema is one of the largest film production centres of the world. It  is one of the biggest film industries in the world in terms of the number of people employed and the number of films produced. Bollywood has produced around 263 feature films by 2014. 
So, here’s a peek into top 10 Bollywood movies:
1.                  3 Idiots (2009)

3 Idiots is a 2009 Indian comedy- drama film. It was based on a novel called Five point someone by Chetan Bhagat. Upon release, the film was the highest-grossing film in its opening weekend in India and had the highest opening day collections for an Indian film up until that point. It starred Amir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sharman Joshi, R Madhvan and Boman Irani in lead roles.The film is distinctive for featuring real inventions by little-known people in India's backyards.

2.                  OMG- Oh My God! (2012)

OMG – Oh My God! is a 2012 Indian comedy drama film. The storyline is based on a Gujarati stage-play entitled Kanji Virudh Kanji and on the 2001 Australian film The Man who sued God. It is directed by Umesh Shukla. The film features Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal  in the lead roles, along with Mithun Chakraborty.

3.                  Dangal (2016)

Dangal  is a 2016 India biographical sports drama film loosely based on the story of Mahavir Singh Phogat, an amateur wrestler, who trains his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari to be world-class wrestlers. It was directed by Nitesh Tiwari. it stars Aamir Khan as the father. Both daughters go on to win medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Babita won a silver medal at the Games, in the 51 kg class and gold at the 2014 Glasgow Games in the 55 kg class. In 2012, Geeta became the first Indian female wrestler to qualify for the Olympics.

4.                 Paa (2009)

Paa is a 2009 Indian comedy-drama film directed by R. Balakrishnan  starring Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Vidya Balan.The film is based on a rare genetic condition known as progeria and places emphasis on a father-son relationship.

5.                 Bajirao Mastani(2015)

Bajirao Mastani is a 2015 Indian epic historical romance film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who also composed its soundtrack. The film was jointly produced by Bhansali and Eros International’s Kishore Lulla; it stars Ranveer Singh as Bajirao I and Deepika Padukone as Mastani, with Priyanka Chopra playing Bajirao's first wife Kashibai.. Based on the Marathi novel Raau by Nagnath S. Inamdar, the film narrates the story of the MarathaPeshwa Bajirao (1700-1740 AD) and his second wife Mastani.

6.                 Gabbar is Back (2015)

Gabbar Is Back is a 2015 Indian vigilante film directed by Krish and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.Featuring Akshay Kumar and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles, the film is a remake of the 2002 Tamil film Ramanaa, directed by A. R. Murugadoss, which was later remade in Telugu as Tagore in 2003 and in Kannada as Vishnu Sena in 2005. .

7.                 Devdas (2002)

Devdas is a 2002 Indian romantic drama film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and based on the 1917 Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novel Devdas. This is the third Hindi version and the first film version of the story in Hindi done in colour. The film was screened at 2002 Cannes Film Festival and was also screened retrospective, during the 2014 International Film Festival of India in the Celebrating Dance in Indian cinema section.Devdas won the Filmfare Award for Best Film. The film also won five National Awards and a further ten Filmfare Awards.

8.                 Baghban (2003)

Baghban is a 2003 Indian Hindi drama film directed by Ravi Chopra, featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, and Hema Malini in lead roles. It is an unofficial adaptation of the 1937 movie Make Way for Tomorrow. Baghban was premiered at the Leeds International Film Festival, England. It was critically acclaimed and went on to become one of Chopra's biggest hits.

9.                 Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013)

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is a 2013 Indian biographical sports drama film directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra from a script written by Prasoon Joshi. The story is based on the life of Milkha Singh, an Indian athlete who was a national champion runner and an Olympian. It stars Farhan Akhtar in the lead role with Pavan Malhotra and Art Malik in supporting roles and Sonam Kapoor in a cameo.

10.            Sholay (1975)

Sholay is a 1975 Indian Hindi-language action-adventure film, directed by Ramesh Sippy, produced by his father G. P. Sippy, and written by Salim-Javed. Sholay is considered a classic and one of the best Indian films. It was ranked first in the British Film Institute's 2002 poll of "Top 10 Indian Films" of all time. In 2005, the judges of the 50th annual Filmfare Awards named it the Best Film of 50 Years.
 Undoubtedly Bollywood has produced many more fantastic films but these are top 10 according to my opinion.
