Methods to turn self study into a routine & to do it better:
1. Set goals,

Bonus tip: Posting your goals where you will see them every day is a great way to stay on top of them and to visualize your progress.
2. Create the perfect study space,
It is insane what your study environment can do to for your productivity. Organizing your desk so that everything you need is within reach is a great way to get a jump start on your studys.
3. Set a schedule,
Setting a specific time each week or day to study is a great way to keep away from procrastination. By setting aside a certain time, you will not only insure that you have enough time to complete your assignments and study for your exams, you’ll also begin to integrate studying into your daily routine.
4. Just do it!,
The hardest part of pretty much anything is starting in the first place. No matter how much you hate science or math or doing the laundry, it’s not so bad once you’ve gotten started. Set yourself a goal of studying for a solid 15-20 minutes without a break and see what you’ve accomplished when the time is up. Chances are, you’ll be able to commit to another 15-20 minutes. At that point, reevaluate again if you want.
5. Listen to music,
A pretty common way to get motivated for the gym is to listen to music that motivates you. Why wouldn’t it work the same for studying? Put on something you know that gets you hype before you start your study session.
6. Reward yourself,
Every time you complete one of your study goals or make a breakthrough on a difficult subject, go reward yourself! This also helps positively reinforce good study habits.
