The word “Examination” is the most breath-taking term in the life
of a student. A student can tolerate anything in life but exams are one of the
worst nightmares that nobody wants to face in real life. It is the most
challenging phase one has to go through in life; and that is why most people
hate it. Many suffer from “exam phobia” that is the fear of exams during this
period; and that too if one has to face the majestic “BOARD EXAMINATIONS” and
that too for the first time out of your cocoon! I mean school! It is as a
440-volt thunder struck on you.
First Thunderclap: It
was a mid December when the CBSE Board declared its date sheet for class 12
Senior Secondary School Board Examinations. I got back home at around 7:30
after attending my coaching and just got the news!!So, immediately I checked it
and found first exam on 9-March- a sigh of relief cause we thought it would be
starting from 1st. Then on going through it what the hell!!! Physics
exam on 15th a day after HOLI. No!!!!! I have not studied anything.
I hate Physics and it is ruining my festival too. OOOh no!!!. Then
with a heavy heart I began, my preparations all was going well but had no time
to study Physics, as I do not like the subject at all.
A trailer of Doomsday-“The Practical”: In mid January, we had our practical
exams. It was 24-Jan-2017 when my Physics practical was scheduled; and guess
what on the same day my cousin’s marriage was. This was the worst thing one
could face. My whole family went outstation except for my mother and me. My
hatred for Physics increased and due to a lot of hustle and bustle in the
house, I was not able to study properly.
Finally, I was called for viva. The examiner was sitting I
had only studied two chapters and guess what-Luck was on my side all the questions
were asked from those chapters only. Phew!! A sigh of relief!! Viva did go well
for Physics. Practical of chemistry also went well. However, Computer Science
killed me. I had prepared all the possible programs except one and that was in
front of me. Now what! I will lose 15 marks. Nooo!!! I did not want this but
luckily, I was able to code it correctly. Viva also went good and I was hoping
good marks.
The Majestic ‘BOARDS’: Now the challenge was waiting for us “The CBSE Board
Examinations”. First examination went well. However, on 15-March-2017-second
board examination (Physics)-I am ready we were about to leave but
then-Awwwakkkkk!!! OOuuuuk!!! I vomited!!! One, two, three in a row. Wow!! Hat
trick completed!!! Bingo!! However, wait I cannot walk even few steps I am
feeling dizzy. NO!! Not again, Physics fear returns. Then I reached the
examination hall 2 friends carried me upstairs I kept drinking Glucose before
going to the hall and thankfully got some strength to fight with my strongest
enemy-“Physics”. Although question paper was, a bit easy and I knew almost 80%
of it (A big deal for me). Therefore, everything went well and finally my
Physics exam was over. Next was Maths it went well, Chemistry-well I need not
worry for that, as it is my strongest subject.
Now, Computer Science examination had no time to prepare had
one day in between and that too Sunday!!! However, I thought I had prepared
well and reached the examination hall. I began searching for my roll number
what!!! All of my classmates in one room and me being the last roll number had
been allotted a separate room. Noooo!!! I cannot tolerate this. I reached the
room it was full of boys. I had studied in Girls’ school so I was a bit nervous
then question paper came into my hand and-It was my worst nightmare I had no
clue about a 10 marks question. Now, I am going to get marks out of 60- this
was certainly not anyone would have wanted; but nothing can be done. Therefore,
I completed my exam and came out of the hall. A sigh of relief!! Finally, the
exams have finished.YoooHoooo!! Yipppeeee!!!!.
The final call –“Results”: On 28-May-2017 was the result day. I woke up at 8:00
am got ready by 9:30 and kept on waiting for the results. Kept on refreshing
the page until at about 12:00 finally have to see the result- fingers crossed;
the site is working slowly, the page is loading… At 12:15 the results are here
Wow!!! I secured 89.6% this could not get better. Therefore, finally the boards
result is out and I am satisfied with my performance.
So, that was my experience with Board
examinations- truly a thrilling one.
