When you are the only child of parents, you live a very different life compared to those who are born with siblings. You have both advantages and disadvantages of being a single child.
One of the biggest advantage I see is being independent. You don't work under the shadow of others. You become strong and brave as you realise the fact that you have to fight alone in this cruel world. No siblings rivalry are to be faced and so less of drama in your life. You got to share more quality time with your parents. It is a myth that inflexibility exist amongst the single child. I don't believe this. When you are the only kid there is a lot of problems you have to face alone and that creates flexibility amongst you.
But the list of disadvantages is not small. You have no elder brother or sister to guide you. There is no one on whom you can depend upon after your parents. There are situations when you feel lonely and depressed. There is a kind of innocent envy that you have for those who are born with siblings.
