Heels- it's beautiful, sexy and provocative!
Next to a woman's most intimate wear lies a pair of heels.
Classy!
Quirky!
And empowering!
With screaming tagline of femininity and glamour ,a must have in a women's wardrobe. Sadly even its most ardent fans don't claim its practicality.
*sob*
Heels are anything but comfortable. It's no good for "walking" or driving. Posh floors and cobbled streets are off limits. And boy, they sure do know how to get stuck in the most inappropriate and awkward situation, Also one of many reasons of frequent ankle sprains.* sigh*
Seems like as though it isn't meant to be walked in.
Originally they weren't.
BUT
'Why is it only women who get to wear them?'
Men and heels have had their fair share of romance, centuries ago heels were an absolute essential to men's wardrobe
Sounds weird? Here's a little bit of history. Persians in order to have good horsemanship skills needed heels to secure his stance for arrows to be shot more effectively hence men wore heels.
The Persian craze of heels came to western Europe, the aristocrats were quick to adopt them and suddenly heels added masculine edge to every thing.
One of the best way to convey status was through impracticality- heels were one of them.

By 1740 men no longer wore heels,it was seen as foolish and effeminate.
How ever in the 1960s saw a comeback of heels in men's wardrobe in forms of low heeled cow boy boots.
Heads would definitely turn, only this time it's women doing it!
Thanks to the rise of gender blurring, heels are back to mens fashion. Mens are on the heels of something sexy, we can say it now.
