Known as the " Garden City",
the only time the city lived up to its title was during an era, in which VHS Tapes
were the new buzz The city is often cited as the perfect case study for the
consequence of globalization. Tall trees were cut down to give way for the even
taller MNC HQs.
The sudden upsurge in the immigrants
following the tech bubble, led to the creation of some fine educational institutes,
which then became an even bigger reason to for the ever energetic teens to move
out of their cocoons for pursuing their dreams. While India is often dismissed
as an abode to an overly conservative society, which considers any intimacy
between couples beside the union of marriage as sin; Bangalore has been a trendsetter
among the other cities for its pro-youth culture and for being a haven for the
hopeless romantics. The streets of Indiranagar and Kormangala can be seen sprawling
with teens, relishing their new found freedom and their heightened sense of individuality.

Bangalore is often a subject
of excessive romanticism by the media, which may seem like an elaborate scheme
to beat the "Breathe in Little Bit of Gujarat" ads and divert the thrill
seeking population to the Cosmopolitan part of the country.
While city life can be too
noisy in the long run, Bangalore is host to an array of really peaceful churches.
Spending 15 minutes at the end of the day in St Patrick's, can help you wind
off much better than any brand of beer available in the many pubs in and around
the city. While Bangalore seems all glitzy in the movies with Hard Rock Café,
Starbucks and all the fancy malls, it is also the ideal place for the
quintessential spendthrift. That doesn’t necessarily mean that one has live life
sans all the luxury. With the help of various markets around Brigade Road, even
the average Joe can fulfill his dream of wearing a Tissot, Cartier or even a
Rolex.

While everything has its pluses and minuses, taking
it into account is the job of the reader. I have presented my viewpoints and
would like to humbly take leave. Hoping to see you somewhere along the streets
on Bengaluru.
