What is that thing that scares the living daylight out of you? Yes, A day without Internet. Internet has become like roti, kapda, makaan for us these days.
So what I tried is an entire day without Internet and trust me it wasn't that bad. When I woke up in the morning I did not see the notifications in my phone rather I first went to my balcony and saw the sunrise. It was a good morning start.
I went to the college and today my eyes not on my phone but on people walking around me in the college. There were so many new faces that I saw today. Basically I wasn't using my phone today and so there was so much of bullying, laughter and gossip in which I got myself involved. This was fun.
So that day I did not see any interesting video on YouTube but talked with my mom about life and I don't regret this. I did not stare at the WhatsApp screen that day rather I was busy reading a novel, helped my mom in the kitchen and went for a walk with my dad. Life seemed peaceful and positive.
We are all so busy in texting each other, watching interesting video's, uploading status that we have become blind to what's right in front of us. That one little screen has become our entire universe. It is because of this miraculous screen that despite today's age of great connectivity, we often find ourselves alone.
Yes we feel lonely despite Facebook, Whatsay, Twitter and so many other social networks the number of mental illness cases are increasing. I think it's time we shut down the ever engrossing screens and take some time for ourselves.
