How to study?

Well, this is a question which torments every student’s mind. But there is absolutely nothing to be afraid or anxious about studies. The time that we spend in school and university is the most precious time of our lives. It is the time during which we mould ourselves into what we want to become as an individual. This might sound  redundant because we have been listening to such serious sermons from parents and elders.
What we need to remember is, all that they say is to enrich our lives, create better and brighter future for ourselves.
When we think about how to study, there is ample material available to guide us. I would like to share how I study and how helpful it has been to me.
1)     Declutter your brain: before I begin to study, what I usually do is splash cold water on my face to become alert and focused.
This helps a great deal in focusing all my mental energies on the material and the task at hand.since, the attention span of human brain is approximately 22 minutes, I tend to lose concentration too. Gulping down cold water brings back my attention or engaging in any practical application of the theory learnt also helps.
2)      Less is more: we really don’t have to spend 15 hours a day in front of books, unless we are cramming for the next morning’s exam. The  quality of study  is all that matters. When we skim through the newspaper paper or while reading a novel, we notice, how perfectly we remember the details of the news item or the plot of the novel to the level of the colour of the protagonist’s eyes. If we can read our texts with the same measure of interest, we can make wonders!
3)      Revision: revision or rehearsal is the only way that information stored in our short term memory can move to our long term memory.so here comes the role of hard work.
We need to do the work to achieve the targets and goals that we have set for ourselves.
4)      Writing practice: this is one method that can work wonders for me. When we write down the keywords of any material after reading it, we can remember the material really well.
5)      It is not about just memorising material and reproducing the same in the exam. Our goal for studying is so much more .if we can extract immeasurable joy in reading and writing, studying can never be arduous.
Of course, we have varied interests, but education is something that we all require to enable us to think critically and become an evolved individual capable of handling and tackling any situation.
Thinking education to be a tough and rough part of our lives will not help us in any way. The very fact that you are reading this post shows that you are interested in making your life big via education.
Your Life is defined by not what you say you would do but what you do.
So right now, make a decision to strip away all the unnecessary elements of life and focus on only what is required for you to make you into the person that you always wanted to be.
