Dr.
Michael Le Boeuf said, "Waste
your money and you are only out of money, but waste your time and you have lost
a part of your life."
I've
learned over time that people don't know what value time is because for every
one of us, it looks different. What works for me will probably not work for
you. We deal with discipline and habits differently. We have different
distractions and pressures in our lives. We have outside circumstances that are
unique to us.
The
paradox of time is that, for many of us, it’s the least considered, worst
managed, and yet most valuable resource we have. The problem with our use of time seems to be far too many of us neither value time , nor use it properly. Perhaps what really matter then , is considering how we use our time, then choosing to use it more effectively. Ther are some good reasons why we need to guard our time, here re three factors that stress the importance of time :
- You cant buy it. In the sense that time is distributed equally to all, each of us gets 24 hours a day.
- You cant stop it. Time marches on, you cant hold time up to take a bit longer.
- You cant save it. Time cant be saved to be used up at another time when you migt feel you need it more.
Time is a resource and how we use
it determines the quality of our life. Every second adds up and before we know
it it’s been years. To not look back with regret at the things we could have
done and words we could have said; we should be more conscious of how and with
whom we spend our time because ultimately it affects us. As Charles Darwin said
“A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life." Time is always running and we are a part of that race, so we have to keep with
it or be left behind.
Protect your time because you can
only spend it and not save it. Say no to the things and people who are not
worth it. If you want to ask the importance of a millisecond, ask the person
who has the silver medal in the Olympics.
Every day we are blessed with more
time until one day we won’t be, so make the best use of it. Spend it wisely,
productively and effectively. Working efficiently today increases the
probability of a better future. Treasure every moment because you will not get
it back. Spend it with the people you love and care about and doing things you
love. Stop waiting and try to live your life to the fullest. Realize its
important before it runs out for you.
