THE ART OF PROCRASTINATION!!!
WHAT IS PROCRASTINATION?
According to wiki Procrastination is the avoidance of doing a task that needs to be accomplished. Sometimes, procrastination takes place until the "last minute" before a deadline. Procrastination can take hold on any aspect of life—putting off cleaning the stove, repairing a leaky roof, seeing a doctor or dentist, submitting a job report or academic assignment or broaching a stressful issue with a partner. Procrastination can lead to feelings of guilt, inadequacy, depression and self-doubt.
Procrastination is most commonly found in people with low esteem. These people mostly doubt their self-ability. They tend to postpone things until the end up having no other way rather than doing it. This shows how much a person can be lazy enough.
WHY DO PEOPLE PROCRASTINATE?
Some of the major reason is that people fear the failure. The consequences of failure make them procrastinate. In this, the students top the list. Apart from the fear of failure people also are kind of lazy and keep postponing their work until the deadline is on top of them.
So it may be right to say that people procrastinate just because they either fear the failure or they are too lazy to do the stuff.
Procrastination is considerably more widespread in students than in the general population, with over 70 percent of students reporting procrastination for assignments at some point. A 2014 panel study from Germany among several thousand university students found that increasing academic procrastination increases the frequency of seven different forms of academic misconduct, i.e., using fraudulent excuses, plagiarism, copying from someone else in exams, using forbidden means in exams, carrying forbidden means into exams, copying parts of homework from others, fabrication or falsification of data and the variety of academic misconduct. This study argues that academic misconduct can be seen as a means to cope with the negative consequences of academic procrastination such as performance impairment.

Some the tips that I follow to prevent myself from procrastinating
- Creative Procrastination: Remember what I said? You can’t avoid procrastination. That’s true.
You can’t do everything. There’s just not enough time. You have to procrastinate on ‘something’. Prioritize which tasks to complete, and procrastinate on the remaining.
- Finish your work by 5:00PM: Most people procrastinate thinking that they have the entire day. Create an artificial deadline. Complete your entire work before that time.
- Use the Pomodoro Technique: The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. After 25 minutes, take a short break. Do whatever you want to do. Then, repeat.
· Delayed Gratification: You feel an urge to be online really badly? Do it after completing all your work. Think about it. When you delay instant gratification, not only your work will be completed on time, the satisfaction of finally getting your reward would multiply!
So true... When you really have that passion and prioritization towards your work, procrastination can be ruled out!
