What are we doing on our phones? We use our mobile phones for entertainment,to connect with friends and colleagues,to stay informed,to shop and what not we can do many more things online with the help of smartphones. People are going mad about this device and this trend continues for a long time from now.But did you ever thought of how much time you are investing on your smartphones? The answer is roughly 4 hours a day of which major part of the pie occupies social media.Social media alone accounts for some 5 years 4 months in the average lifetime.Let's see some crazy figures.
We will see some statistics which are taken from some credible sources. An average smartphone user spends:
- 1 year 10 months on youtube.
- 1 year 7 months on facebook.
- 1 year 2 months on snapchat.
- 8 months on instagram.
- 18 days on twitter.
The usage is more in the age group of 18-25 years. We are sparing this much of our time online which is mainly consisting of junk and garbage. What do you say?Are we paving a better path for tomorrow? If you ask me,I would partially disagree with it .Yes,smartphones and social media will help us to advance in our lives and solving many of our complexities. It helps to reduce our work time and create more opportunities for startups based on digital platform.
Phones are becoming smarter than us.It is making us lazy as we can get many of the things done online. Moreover,we are becoming inefficient and surrender ourselves to it.So,is this technology wrong?Absolutely no.Then, who is supposed to take the blame? This question has some ambiguity,we can take some part of it as we are misusing it to some extent. Finally, there is good and bad in everything.Taking the good and brushing aside the bad is all what we have to do.
