RIDING SOLO IS DOPE; SOLO TRIP ISN’T!

“We travel not to escape life but for life not to escape us”.

I am fond of travelling and travelling quotes and whenever I read one it desperately make me to travel. But alas I can’t! You know why? Because I am a girl. And please note that here I am not being a feminist at all. Most of the females can’t travel solo and the irony is that if you check their about section on any social media you will find “wanderlust” written there. After all, everyone wants to travel. Travelling reduces tension and it can make your bond strong with the people you are travelling with. Exploring new places and new people can make you happy.

“Mom my school is taking a trip to rishikesh and all of my friends are going and teachers will accompany us too. So I want to go, please give me rupee 500 to register myself”- I said when I was in school.

And as history repeats itself when all of my friends were enjoying in rishikesh, I was buying vegetables for my home :-D.

Now when I was in college, like any other Indian college student our girl gang planned a trip to “goa”. We planned everything, and like any other person we were very excited. When the plan was planned we were almost 20 students and they all were like “yes we will surely make this trip lit”, “we are going to enjoy to the fullest”, “I am not going to cancel this trip”.

But by the end we were left with only 3 people.

And like any other ‘GOA’ trip, our trip was also a big FAIL.

Most of the girls cancelled the plan because their family didn’t allow them to go. This actually hit me hard! I just want to know the answer behind that. Is it a matter of security? But if you want your girl child to be independent, if you want her to learn and experience something then trust me, you have to trust her and support her. We all know we learn more by practical experiences and one can learn a lot from travelling, I swear exploring new places and meeting new people can reduce your mental stress.

And girls, who are working and are independent then you know that you can plan your trips because there are many options like you just need to save money; i.e less shopping. You decide shopping< travelling. You can book zoom car. And according to me prefer travelling in a group because this will ensure your safety. Google everything about the place you are going to visit and start travelling with some short road trips because this will make your parents comfortable too. Travel as much as you can. Learn and explore new ideas and new people. Broken, happy, sad, or in doubt just travel. But make sure in these excitement don’t get over excited. Be in your senses and enjoy as much as you can.
