I very well remember the day I met you, first day at my school. My family had shifted from jalol to Vadodara last year, seats were full in Vikas vidyalaya therefore I took admission in Pragati high school. This year we tried again for Vikas vidyalaya and I made it through. On the very first day I went inside the gate of MY school😁 I looked at the notice board, "6th B it is " I told myself but I had no idea where the class is. I stood there for a while. I saw a girl looking at the same list and then she started moving towards the stairs. I followed her.😬We reached the class and she said hi to some other girl in the class. I took a seat, settled down and had some water. All other students were coming one after one ,she knew almost everyone and everybody smiled at her. She was chatting about her vacation trip to a group of girls. Bell rang. A lady with around 5"3inch entered, her body language in itself said she is not a person who takes shit. Everybody stood up to wish morning and she wished back. She introduced herself as Smita Vaghvani. In her introduction she said a sentence which made everything clear," If I am friends with you, I am a good friend and if you make me angry then be ready for the worst." She took attendance making note about the new students. She then changed places and as there were three new students, I was able to sit alone well I was happy 😀. Bell rang again, this time everybody started moving out of the class. I was confused "where is everybody going ?" There was no way left as it is so I moved along. In aisle a height wise line was being made I had no idea what to do. I was thinking of going to the end of the line but the girl whom I had followed to the class said hear you height seems to be more than me and less then her, pointing at a girl standing besides her, " Stand in between us." As soon as I got in the line, the line started moving. I was standing 5th in the line. We were going for morning prayers🙏🏻, Assembly as they call it. The assembly was half an hour standing under the sun and listening to prayers that I had never heard before but all the faith that I had in god I tried to speak as much as I could. After returning to the class the class teacher said first four lectures she was going to take, in which she gave us time table, appointed various monitors, read the rules given in the diary and made her rules very clear. This took two lectures, there were yet two more to go for the lunch break. As I was sitting alone I made some drawing while everybody else were chit chatting with their friends. At 10:45 we were making a line once again. As I didn't have habit of having proper breakfast so early in the morning, I was feeling a pit in my stomach, praying that there is something good for lunch. 🤤We entered the huge dinning hall with steel tables and white plastic stools. There were plates, bowls, spoons and vessels filled with food items placed on the table. "Neat"🙂 In the dinning hall there were no rules so everybody took seats and there seemed to be no place for me. Ma'am saw me standing cluelessly and made space for me and made me sit. I told ma'am that I am Jain and from where should I take my food. She told me to enquiry in the kitchen. I went and stood at the counter, nobody was there, I mean there were people in there but there was so much noise that my couldn't reach them. After a while a lady with the same clothes as the people in there entered the kitchen door, I asked her and she said there was no Jain food. I was taken aback, my parents had asked before taking admission only that I would need Jain food. They had said it was available. Damn, what now😰. I went back to my place and sat down with my head hanging low. Ma'am came up to me and asked why I wasn't eating anything, I told her what happened and she went straight away to the kitchen head. She came back and told me to have some fruit today from tomorrow I will get Jain food. I was hungry yet relived that atleast from tomorrow I will get some food. After the lunch was half an hour break for the whole school. Guys moved towards the play ground and girls stayed back and started chatting again. I was siting with the group and getting bored when I saw three girls playing something at the back of the class. I went to them and asked if I could join them. They were very friendly, one of them missed her best friend who left the school last year and it was done. The other two were best friends and we became best friends. Her name is Jahanvi Patel. Even today we have random chats. Carrrer has put distance between us 😭but you will always be my best friend. 😍We both have many other friends now but dear you are the best. The bond that we shared was the most special , nobody can make me feel the same. From the first of my 6th standard class you became my life. 😘
