EDUCATION SYSTEM IN INDIA
Education is the basic need of a person , we may also call it the essential resource for a person for his/her overall development .Hence any country's economy depends upon how much people there are educated and despite of all that how much productive a single person there is for their country. So not to formalize the standards , we need a check on the education system that though we have well defined architecture for ensuring the education of each and every person or not. Let's discuss about the present scenario, education system in India is similar to that of various other South Asian countries. It consists of three major components- general education, vocational and technical, which till liberalization of economy were public domain, i.e. they were State’s responsibility class grading divided education system from Primary level to Master level into 17 years. Institutional set-up such as university is called the basic infrastructure which is determinant of educational development.
We should not get to the what structure is but the fact that matters most is the question that our economy is facing why so much of unemployment , why people doing their job are not really happy with their job. Presently a student suffers from the gap that he need to fill after his/her primary education to better cope with the secondary education . One of the major drawbacks of our present system of education in India is that it gives our students the impression that their aim in life is to pass the university examinations, instead of becoming a man of good character and sound temperament. This mentality has many Socio-economic evils rooted in it. Naturally, the products of such education system do not contribute to the development of the country, but add to its woes.
Work from the base for better Result
We don't need any special programs for the youngsters , we don't any special attention at secondary level and college level. The thing that should be worked on is the basic if student get proper guidance since the start of their educational journey, surely they will excel in whatever task assigned to them .
Primary education never get focused by governments and even by the private sectors .Again, the greatest irony is that the best teachers are supposed to be employed in government schools, while people send their wards to the private schools. A sense of accountability is completely lacking on the part of the teachers. The worst victims of the whole system are the unfortunate students who are caught in a situation of complete chaos and confusion. In addition, commercialization of education should be stopped. The evil practice of charging capitation fee is an open manifestation of this in which the highest payer is assured a place in educational institution of high repute, paying little attention to merit.Education is a co-current state level subjects and under the Indian Constitution education is made a Fundamental Right and Directive Principles of State Policy further needed free education and other facilities to children. There is no discrimination among the people on the basis of religion, caste or creed/faith etc. However, the minorities are given right to run their own educational institutions with financial aid from Government and they are free to introduce their religion, language in their institution. Education is compulsory and free up to primary standard.Indian education system has a wide structure and the educational institutions can introduce the education or learning pattern as below VA years in pre-nursery schools, in the primary schools up to V class or so. Education is further upgraded upto 10+2 system where the examinations are conducted by the Board at 10 and 12. Thereafter, students are free to choose the courses of their own at any stage, i.e. primary, secondary, senior secondary level.Indian schools are not as well organised as they are expected. Private/Public school charge high fee and have control on their institution. They only need the registration by the centre /State Government or their Bodies and Management. While the Education Department has a loose control over these Private/ Public Schools government has its own schools where the normal fee is charged and the students belong with poor section of society. Overall the condition of government schools is pathetic.Local educational institutions play an important role in the area of education. As our country is poor and cannot afford the heavy expenses of Educational institutions, local education body's arc allowed opening their schools and Government recognizes these institutions at par with the Government institutions. Minority institutions have their own schools with their own expenses or Government grants in-aid. But they fill the gap and help the Government to reduce its burden. We also live in a country where the people see education as the means of climbing the social and economic ladder. If the education system is failing – then it is certainly not due to lack of demand for good education, or because a market for education does not exist.
Education system in India is failing because of more intrinsic reasons. There are systemic faults that do not let our demand for good education translate into a great marketplace with excellent education services
Conclusion
Hence not extending too what may be the solution:-
-> primary education system must be redefined and needs rechecking periodically to ensure the quality education to students from the very beginning.
-> Practical knowledge or we say practical based learning should be more emphasized rather than the theoretical knowledge.
-> Students should not be allowed the easy or comfort side from the beginning they should be assigned with mini-projects ,so they posses always practical approach.
-> Students should be given proper career guidance and so they can chose their dreams themselves later on.
->They should be left free to think about the things happening around them , their should be no perception among them that what they learn they accept without going through and beyond the things because to build a vision they need to go through their own observation not just accept what being written , without questioning themselves why so.
All this things will surely improve the current situation as 'WHAT STUDENT NEEDS FROM EDUCATION SYSTEM IS THE WAY OF THINKING NOT JUST THINKING'. so we have to take some tough calls and implement our education system as everybody's need is the good education. We have reservation in education today because education is not available universally. Education has to be rationed. This is not a long –term solution. If we want to emerge as a country build on a knowledge economy, driven by highly educated people – we need to make good education so universally available that reservation will lose its meaning.
