Winter is coming!

Now that I have your attention, this article is nowhere related to the famed Game of Thrones, but the lovable weather itself. Winter is loved by all! You get to hide those extra pounds with your favourite hoodie, it makes your cheeks go pink and what not. Although the weather seems to have lot of pleasant things to talk about but winter can prove to be troublesome too!

We all dread the infamous winter blues, getting up with a grumpy face only to realize that we’re already late for work. Shivering to death the moment we step out of our bed. Not wanting to go out and staying in bed all day is what we all aspire. What if I tell you there’s a way to lessen these dreadful scenarios.

Tasty guavas, sweet custard apples and our favourite ‘til ke laddu’ are the best things about this season. Also peas! Who doesn’t love peas? We tend to eat more in winter for many reasons, firstly, our body needs food to stay warm and active, secondly, we have a great option to conceal those love handles by covering it with our favourite jacket. But we forget to stay hydrated, because we don’t feel the urge to drink water. Staying hydrated is quintessential even in winters too! So don’t reduce the intake of water this winter and thank me later. To make the water more enticing you can add thinly sliced apples and a dash of ginger. Also a glass of warm water in the morning will give you a kick start. You can brew teas to boost your metabolism, green tea, chamomile tea are some great options. We tend to fall prey to the vicious cough and cold in this season which spoils all our plans and routine. Make sure you stay away from loading yourself with the unhealthy junk food and rather find healthy options. Try to prepare your food at home with the ingredients that you have, this will not only assure the quality of food but it will save you a million bucks. Include seasonal fruits like guava and custard apple and make detoxifying yet tasty smoothies.

When it comes to styling your clothes, winter offers a huge variety for both men and women. Layering can never go out of trend. Experiment with different hues of yellow, pink, grey and green. Winter is the best time to flaunt those thigh high ultra-chic boots and make heads turn. Use coconut oil as a moisturizer and say no to all the high end lotions which are full of harsh chemicals. It is rightly said that ‘you are, what you eat’ so make sure you take a proper and healthy diet which includes all the vitamins and minerals. You also need antioxidants for a glowing skin, green tea and coffee are good sources. Eat healthy and stay healthy!

Another reason to love this sublime weather are the long winter breaks! You can head to exquisite places like Rajasthan (and experience the magical Pushkar Fair), Kerala, Goa. You can also go on adventurous road trips with you family and friends!

So be ready to fall in love with this stunning weather!
