His hazel eyes!

His pristine little eyes were glimmering with some uncanny beams of happiness, calmness and hope. My heart skipped a beat when I saw him for the first time. Any rendezvous had never mesmerised me to such an extent. I could feel his eyes smiling at me. The vibes I felt within me on seeing him was indeed deeply satisfying.I had waited for several years for this one day.
I walked home on a cloudy afternoon after college, just thinking about him. I reached home and he was running about in the veranda. He was so little, delicate and pure. I felt as if he was sent from the heavens for me, only me. I held him in my hands, he started licking my face. Oops! He urinated on my pants. But I didn’t mind. This godsent gift could never vex me. His fur was so soft and his licks nearly lulled me to sleep.

From that day, the moment I enter my home, he is the first one to welcome me. He is my alarm. He is one of the best things that has happened to me. His hazelnut eyes speak to the depths of my heart.
The place under my table is his bedding.
He finds great pleasure in ripping every day’s newspaper before I can lay my hands on it.
He hates or loves the colour green, I know not. But, the moment he encounters the colour green he darts about to reach it. Bumps his head to the sofa, trying to catch a running green train, jumps on me to catch my green dress.
Milk is what he loves to drink. Once, I unknowingly overfed him, my heart came to my mouth. He slept and when I tried to wake him up, he tumbled and fell asleep again.
However, he was fine after some time.
Arjun, my Labrador pup is the one who instils life in my existence. He brings cheer and smile to my lips, even when it’s almost impossible to smile another time.
Don’t ask me why his name is Arjun because I didn’t name him but it was my grandma.the intention of naming him Arjun was to enable him to conquer the world with his unwavering focus just like the Great Warrior Arjun of Mahabharata.
I see God in Arjun’s peaceful eyes. However, he is as naughty as any other pup of his age and his teething has led him to punch holes in my new shoes.
I had to get a TT jab too.
But, I love him all the more than I used to.if anyone wants to experience what true love is, they should adopt a dog.
A dog can shower all its selfless love on you and can never except anything in return except love.
But, it’s important to know how to deal with a dog. The better we understand them, the stronger would be our relationship.

Arjun is still sleeping at my table, as I am penning this article down. All I pray to God is not to snatch away this immensely invaluable gift from me, though I don’t know how that’s going to be possible.
