DREAMS

A dream is a succession of image, idea, emotion and sensation that usually occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. There is a huge variation in the dreams of different age groups. Dreams are the most important part of one’s life.

When we are small we dream of a life like living in the palace, having so many cars, room full of toys and unlimited chocolates. When we are small we tend to fantasize everything in life. As we tend to grow older our dreams change to being an artist, doctor, pilot, engineer etc. when we turn 18-19 years and life becomes clearer we tend to start thinking about our career more seriously.

Most of the times we see good dreams and tend to believe them. Some dreams also turn true. It is believed that early morning dreams turn true and when it is a positive dream we tend not to tell anyone but if it is a negative dream we tend to say it. Sometimes negative dreams motivate us. Example seeing in dream that the exam forthcoming will go bad and we will get bad grades one tends to work hard from first and prove that dream wrong.

On an average a person has three to five dreams per night but some can have up to seven dreams. Most of the dreams are immediately forgotten as soon as we wake up. During a full eight-hour sleep, most dreams occur in the typical two hours of Rapid Eye Movement. Dream interpretation can be a result of subjective ideas and experiences. A fact states that we only see people in our dream who we have seen in real life, our brain does not have the capacity to make up new people. Drinking water before going to sleep helps one to remember the dreams seen at night, a fact.

A study shows that most people believe that their dreams reveal meaningful hidden truth in it. Dreams allow us to solve problems that we cannot solve in real life. We go to sleep with a problem and wake up with an answer. This may be more of a way to ‘use’ our dreams than a ‘purpose’ of dreaming. If you believe that your dreams are important then analyzing them may help you focus your mind on the problem and help you to find a solution.

One must dream high so that they can achieve those dreams. Yes dreams are not reality but definitely we can turn it into reality.
