The journey from strangers to friends or best friends or lovers.
Well , lets see what it is.!
So , there was this guy I met on Facebook , a complete stranger at the moment.
Well , starting a conversation with an unknown wasn't my cup of tea but he was insulting my friend , to say , a very close friend. Now , it is our tendency to defend our friends if someone else speaks a word against them but on the other hand to insult them no matter what.
Relatable?!
Unfortunately , it didn't take time for me to shout out on that guy , trying to defend my bestfriend.
Who knew , that one argument with him could turn us into friends.
Friends ?! This easily?!
Ofcourse not!
It took alot. Alot from his side , I must say.
I was a very inveterate person and once I would say a no , it would mean a definite NO.!
But for the guy , every NO gave birth to a new hope.
It might be that he had come to know about me through our mutual friend and wanted to become friends with me , the reason why he kept trying to make me happy despite of me talking to him in a bad tone.
This is the thing , if you really want it , you don't let it go easily.
Gradually , our mutual friend helped us become friends and the conversation began , a "sarcastic" one at the initial though!
Moving on , the way he turned my perspective about him and made me believe that not all guys are the same (for , I had heard my friends crying over guys so I never even wished to have one as a friend because at that time all I used to think was all they will do is leave you hanging at the end) .
Getting attached isn't that easy. Isn't it?!
But once , you come to know , that you share a lot of common things/thoughts and you exactly understand what the other feels or means is what gets you through.
Even sharing of your perspective about life and people and all the odds and evens you have been going through adds up to it.
And then you think , Damn! Where was he till date.
It took us a long time until we realised we have been supporting each other every time and motivating the same to look positively towards life. We had been sharing our sorrows , what we did throughout , what were we planning to do and every stupid thing that we could discuss and yet not be bored about it.!
Insulting each other had become a part of our lives.
There came a time when we couldn't even think of loosing each other.
Well , the name best friend didn't come up like that , but when one fine day he wrote to me ,
" I have got a friend like you , after ages. You are the friend people crave for. Stay forever , not as my love (because even they ditch you at times) but as my bestfriend. There's no bond stronger than that of two bestfriends. "
Well , it didn't take time for me to melt and there we were "Best friends"
He was the one who made me understand that " we shouldn't judge a book on its appearance and neither should we believe in what people say." No doubt , there will be hundreds barking out of jealousy or whatever along your journey but what makes you strong is moving on even after it .
From strangers to friends, from sharing about our dreams to living some of it , from insulting each other to standing up for each other , from being blocked by one and getting irritated by other , from never ending conversations to the insane chats ,
the journey from a stranger to a bestfriend couldn't be better.
"We ride together , we die together,
We Insult each other , like none another.
The thought of seperation is scary today ,
Though we know it might happen one day.
But we choose to live the moment we are living ,
For we don't even know , if we will live another day.
The bond we share is of pebbles and stones ,
The one who tries to interfere will go through a tough zone.
Yes! We are bestfriends , you may say.
Donot get jealous , forever we will stay!"
This is how we used to plan to make other's jealous.
We wanted a friendship where people would be like Damn! They are still friends.
And the hindi song " Yaara teri yaari Ko..." Was the one we used to dedicate each other.
But who knew forever was just to last for a couple of years.
Who knew forever had an end too.
An end that was hard to accept.
Afterall this , one fine day , the guy had gone. He was long gone , beyond my reach.
No phone calls , no texts , no messages.
Blocked everywhere.
No information. Not even through the mutuals.
This was where one of the best chapters of life came to an end.
But it's imprint is still in the heart today.
The memories are still as fresh as they were yesterday.
The name still gets a smile on the face and all I could say is "behki hawa sa tha woh"..
So guys , you will have times with your best friend when you will have quarrels but sort it out , no matter what.
You never know if there's going to be a tomorrow for it or not.
Each and every person in your life leaves teaching you something. Embrace their presence. Be kind enough. It isn't everytime that someone cares. :)
