A guide to clear skin

Do you want to banish all those cystic spots and scars ? (well who doesnt duh). These are the rules you have got to live by !

1. Keep it clean

Your makeup might hide zits, but it also traps free radicals against your skin, says Zoe Draelos, a professor of dermatology at Duke University. Wash your face morning, night, and after the gym with a cleanser that contains up to 2 percent salicylic acid.

2. Don't pop those zits 

It's so hard not to, we know. But try to resist. Popping your pimples will only result in inflammation, scarring, and yes, more acne. If you're truly tempted, some experts suggest keeping your hands busy with a squeeze toy. 
DON'T touch your face unnecessarily , your hands contain a lot of bacteria that will be easily transferred to your face.


3. Drink water 

Keep your body cool and free it of its toxins by drinking at least eight glasses of water per day, This will gradually clear out any bumps or congestion you might have on your face.


4. Exfoliate and moisturise 

Exfoliate your skin at least 2-3 times a week , be sure not to over-do it and cause further irritation. This removes the dead skin cells off and replenishes your skin and gives it a healthy glow . Using any harsh chemicals to dry out acne should be compensated with optimal moisturization , you don't want to dry your skin out !


5. Calm down

Easier said than done, we know. But stress hormones increase oil production, which can lead to clogged pores and whiteheads. So make an effort to relax when needed. "Anything that reduces stress in your body — tai chi, running, a warm bath — will make you have less acne, less often," says Richard Fried, a dermatologist and clinical psychologist in Yardley, Pennsylvania.


6. Protect your skin

Acne products can make your skin more susceptible to sun damage, so be sure to use SPF 30 or higher. Look for formulas labeled noncomedogenic, which won't clog pores.


7. Fade your scars

Just because the pimple's gone doesn't mean it disappeared. Use a scar treatment with added salicylic acid or make face masks at home and use it to your advantage .
Potato juice , lemon juice , honey and yogurt are known to fade scars naturally.

8. Have Patience

More important of all , have patience ! 
It takes time to heal scars and do keep in mind that nothing changes over night .Pamper and take good care of your skin and things will eventually fall in place.
