What can be more interesting than learning new skills?
New courses add up to your personality. It helps you to
expand your horizons and discover something new. Additional skills can be
learnt either out of interest or for some specific reasons.
Courses like, Learning foreign language, Programming,
Speaking courses, Creative courses (photography, videography, learning musical
instruments etc.) have gained immense popularity in present world. People who
know more are always favored and they get more opportunities to excel than the
others.
The biggest challenge we face now a days is the lack of time.
People are so busy presently that it has become difficult to devote time for
other activities. Devoting time may be a difficult task but it is still possible.
Here are
some important points that you should keep in mind when you want to learn a new
course in less amount of time.
Step 1: PLAN
Have a plan or basic framework of which course you want to learn.
It is the most important step that needs a lot of brainstorming. Having a plan
makes you focused and that ultimately leads to better results.
• Choose a course that genuinely
interests you.
• Do some research about your course.
• Get necessary tools (i.e. take help
of a tutor, books, website etc.)
• Have necessary purpose for doing your course. We cannot learn something
unless we tell ourselves the reason to do it. Keep things clear to yourself.
Step 2:
PREPARE
The next
task is to prepare yourself (mentally and physically) and your surroundings. Try
to find a suitable environment where you can devote yourself to learning. You
can split the components of your course and assign specific amount of time to
learn them. Make your timetable in such a way, that it matches your deadline.
• Prepare your mind and body. Keep the deadline for the course
clear in your mind.
• Make a timetable. Devote fixed amount of time for the course.
• Make a blueprint of the major
themes in the course. If you find it different to learn all things at once, try
to deconstruct your course into smaller topics and fragments. This would make
it easier to learn.
• Avoid distractions (like, messages, calls, etc. ) and make
comfortable environment for learning new things.
This is the working or the actual stage. When you want to
learn something in a short time period then you must work hard and pay more
attention to things. Each one of us has a different level of understanding
things and here, we must know which method suits us the best. If we know which
technique suits us the best then it becomes easier for us to comprehend.
• Pay attention to your subject matter.
• Keep a journal. Make your own notes
once you're finished the lesson. Try to keep
it simple.
• Choose your own method of
understanding (diagrams, tables, charts etc.)
This is the most important step. We must keep ourselves
motivated to complete the task. We must enjoy the process of learning something
new instead of getting frustrated. If you feel things are not working out the
way you wanted, then discuss it with someone who would support you. Keep these
points in mind and get going.
• Do not over stress
• Take breaks. Give yourself some
time to absorb the things you have learnt so far.
• Reward yourself. Whenever you achieve
a milestone, reward you self with something for your advancement.
• Keep a track of your progress.
• Do not give excuses to yourself,
eventually knowing something new is going to benefit you.
Learning something new in less period of time is actually possible.
This will happen only if we are determined to devote ourselves to it. Nothing
is impossible, but we should be determined and have genuine interest in the
things we want to do. If we keep ourselves motivated and determined then the
chances of learning things in a short period of time increases.
Remember,if you wouldn't believe in yourself then who else will?
Remember,if you wouldn't believe in yourself then who else will?
So keep calm and if things do not work out in the first
place, you can always give it a second try.
